The Council of Honour of the University for Peace was created by the UPEACE Council in 2000, and honours Nobel Peace Prize Laureates. It currently includes 15 Nobel Peace Laureates and its Honorary Chair is H. E. Oscar Arias Sánchez, 1987 Laureate and two-term President of the Republic of Costa Rica.
